This role is for a Project Engineer in Packaging Solutions North America (PSNA) Engineering.
Compensation: $115,000 - $134,000. Multiple factors, including individual experience, skills and abilities, will determine the final placement within the pay range. Location: Memphis, TN – does not require relocation to Memphis; must live near a US airport as this position requires approximately 50% travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and manage the installation of equipment within corrugated manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure all capital and repair projects are installed per project scope, schedule, cost estimate, and budget while minimizing plant production interference.
- Report to the Project Engineer Lead in PSNA Engineering, with the reporting level varying based on candidate skills and experience.
- Lead multiple, concurrent projects involving the installation of corrugated manufacturing equipment and plant infrastructure improvements.
- Oversee project management tasks, including organize/planning, scoping & bidding, scheduling coordination, and project execution.
- Perform detailed engineering for equipment installations and plant infrastructure improvements.
- Travel to sites as needed to manage both major and minor projects and equipment installations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and discussion partner to PSNA facilities on all aspects of the corrugated manufacturing process and project implementation.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related business discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in the corrugated box industry, with a thorough understanding of corrugated equipment, the corrugating process, and applicable OSHA health & safety standards.
- Solid grasp of the engineering process and the mechanical, electrical, and scheduling/organizational requirements for equipment installations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
- Experience with AutoCAD software for creating, viewing, and modifying drawings, including plant layouts, equipment layouts, and foundation drawings.
- Advanced project management skills with a track record of managing multiple major and minor engineering projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to all levels of management.
- Understanding of contractor services in mechanical, electrical, and structural domains.
- Strong organizational skills complemented by time management, priority setting, decisiveness, and problem-solving capabilities.
