Entry-Level Architectural Designer

Position Overview

Risa Boyer Architecture (RBA), a boutique full-service architecture firm based in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a talented and passionate Architectural Designer. We are looking for a motivated individual to contribute to our collaborative design process—from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for sustainable design, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Be an integral member of small design teams
• Prepare renderings and design presentations
• Research new materials and methods
• Develop finish material palettes and specify fixtures and furniture
• Manage finish library
• Assist with marketing development
• Code research and permit processing

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
• 1-3 years of professional experience
• Proficiency in Revit and architectural renderings
• Ability to communicate through hand sketches
• Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Experience with client presentations and communication
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lumion
• Experience with sustainable design practices – Passive House
• Understanding of building codes and regulations in Oregon
