Position Overview
Join VITA as a Telecommunications Contract & Supplier Manager Support in Richmond, VA. This is a 6-month Contract to Hire role requiring on-site availability – initially 5 days/week for 2-3 weeks until the manager is comfortable, then transitioning to 4 days on-site with 1 day remote. The role supports the Telecommunications & Supplier Management Team by managing contracts, supplier performance, process documentation, and ensuring smooth stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Telecommunications & Supplier Management Team with documentation, oversight, and management of Telecommunications Contracts.
- Understand and apply Virginia’s Public Procurement Act (VPPA) and participate in available training if needed.
- Evaluate contract language, manage supplier performance issues, and support adherence to service level agreements.
- Document and update processes using tools such as VISIO, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Provide coverage for team operations and support the upkeep of the Telecommunications website, including pricing updates.
- Conduct research to ensure that contracts, new services, and extensions meet market standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in managing Telecommunications Contracts & Suppliers.
- Familiarity with Virginia’s Public Procurement Act (VPPA) or a willingness to learn and apply its principles.
- Proven ability to document processes and effectively use technology (VISIO, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in stakeholder management.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Must be willing and able to work ON SITE as required, including an initial period of full-time on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with contract and supplier management in the telecommunications industry.
- Experience handling NDAs and internal process management.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices and market research within telecommunications.
