Job Description

Position Overview

Woodruff Arts Center employees play an integral role in creating and supporting great art and education initiatives at the nation's third largest arts center. This position at Alliance Theatre—a leading producing theater in the Southeast renowned for its artistic excellence and community engagement—focuses on coordinating promotional activities and managing social media content across multiple platforms. Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grassroots Marketing & Promotions (40%) – Identify events, festivals, and partnerships; create, staff, and execute experiential marketing plans and events; coordinate with artists and production teams for promotional performances; manage promotional packages and track budgets.
  • Social Media Management (50%) – Lead scheduling and posting for platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube; ensure brand guidelines and strategic messaging; respond to audience engagements; collaborate across departments and with influencers; assist in content production such as podcasts and photoshoots.
  • Administrative Support (10%) – Process invoices and deliver collateral materials to promotional partners, in addition to handling other assigned administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in developing social media messages and content for large organizations or brands.
  • Degree or work experience in journalism, communications, marketing, or English.
  • Exceptional written communication and copywriting skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) and creative editing software (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Lightroom, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and adapt in a fast-paced digital media landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong personal connection to the Atlanta arts & culture community.
  • Interest in theater with a sound understanding of the professional theater industry.
  • Experience using content development platforms such as giffy.com or Canva.
