Job Description
Position Overview
As Brave Care continues to grow, we're looking for a triage nurse—a key role in a practice and company that is changing the way children and families access and receive care. In this role, you will help staff our day-hours call line and other modes of communication for our patients. Our clinics are open from 10 AM–8 PM, 7 days per week, with shifts from 9 AM–7 PM PST, 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Be available during a pre-arranged schedule to answer patient and parent phone calls from 10 AM to 10 PM.
- Maintain strict professional standards, including abstinence from alcohol or drugs during or immediately before your shift.
- Ensure a quiet environment when taking phone calls.
- Provide medical advice and triage assessments for parents, directing patients to appropriate care (next-day visit, ER, or calling 911).
- Keep accurate and complete records of all phone calls, including patient and caregiver information and call outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years pediatric nursing experience
- Eligible for or currently licensed in Oregon, North Carolina, and Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of phone triage experience (desired)
- Excellent communication skills with children and families
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple technology platforms and lines of communication
