Job Description
Position Overview
Grant Thornton is seeking an experienced Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Senior Director. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead our AI strategy and execution across the organization by driving the adoption and implementation of AI and machine learning technologies, guiding the development of AI-powered products and solutions, and fostering a culture of innovation and responsible AI practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute on Grant Thornton's AI strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
- Collaborate with the Product organization to develop and implement AI initiatives that enhance business processes and drive innovation; lead workstreams to implement the strategy.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions, including machine learning, natural language processing, and other advanced technologies.
- Establish best practices for model development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Work closely with executive leadership, peers, and business unit heads to identify high-impact AI use cases, with regular reporting to the AI steering committee.
- Evaluate AI trends, technologies, and partnerships to maintain a competitive edge, cultivating a culture of experimentation and data-driven decision making.
- Define ethical standards and governance frameworks for AI projects, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance with regulatory and data privacy requirements.
- Mentor team members and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Manage risks related to model drift, bias, and unintended consequences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in professional services with a proven track record in building and deploying scalable AI solutions in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in modern AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Experience with GenAI, LLMs, and multi-modal models in a production environment.
- Proven experience managing interdisciplinary teams and working cross-functionally.
Compensation
- Chicago, IL; Downers Grove, IL; Denver, CO; Baltimore, MD: $206,300 - $343,800 per year
- Washington, DC; Bellevue, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Newport Beach, CA; San Diego, CA; Iselin, NJ; New York, NY: $222,800 - $371,300 per year
- San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA: $237,200 - $395,400 per year
