Job Description
Position Overview
Capital Markets Senior Financial Analyst (“CMFA”) will support transactions generated by Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets brokerage services with a concentration in multifamily valuation analyses. Senior Analysts will primarily perform complex financial analysis activities including pricing, Excel valuation model creation, due diligence collection and review, and will be responsible for translating analysis findings into high-level summaries for Capital Markets brokers.
Location: Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas
Schedule: On-site with a hybrid option; travel and flexible hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of complex Broker financial analysis and modeling requests, including project management on high-value client opportunities and portfolio transactions.
- Prepare pro forma statements, discounted cash flow analyses, and Excel-based financial models considering current and historical market conditions.
- Conduct audits of existing financial models to ensure accuracy of inputs and validity of assumptions, identifying any data gaps.
- Perform market research to analyze property and market conditions, and synthesize findings in a clear, concise manner.
- Communicate with Brokers and their teams to confirm scope of requests, review analysis findings, and make timely, accurate revisions as needed.
- Identify and address missing or unclear information to ensure comprehensive and accurate analyses.
- Develop high-level analysis summaries that pinpoint transaction strengths, weaknesses, trends, and inconsistencies.
- Assist and mentor junior CMFA Analysts and contribute to the development of training resources.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure work products are thorough, complete, and aligned with scope of work.
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives by communicating potential solutions and participating in related project tasks.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Required Qualifications
- Experience Required: 2-5 years of financial analysis and modeling experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field preferred (combinations of education and corporate work experience may be considered).
- Qualifications: Strong knowledge of real estate financial concepts with extensive experience in multifamily underwriting and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Requirements: Must be able to work on-site with a hybrid schedule, including travel and extended working hours to meet project deadlines.
- Responsibilities: High attention to detail, excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, strong time management, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualifications: Prior Capital Markets experience is a plus.
- Qualifications: Familiarity with student housing and/or self-storage underwriting is advantageous.
- Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
