Job Description
Position Overview
A Medical Assistant is accountable for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This role involves caring for patients with both acute and chronic needs and requires clear communication through various modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
Location: Siena Cardiology Clinic, Henderson, Nevada
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs/wk – Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM for training, then option to move to 4x10 hr shifts from 6AM to 5PM)
Salary: $19.87 - $28.31 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Providing Patient Care – Under the direction of the Clinician, assist in gathering patient information relevant to their visit and condition.
- Responsibilities: Effective Communication – Clearly communicate with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.
- Responsibilities: Team Collaboration – Work with cross-functional teams to deliver coordinated patient care, ensuring attention to detail and follow-through.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications: Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah.
- Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to the start date.
- Qualifications: Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry.
- Qualifications: Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Qualifications: Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to ensure high levels of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Qualifications: Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Qualifications: Utah Only – If certified with less than one year of MA experience, participation in a yearlong MA residency program is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualifications: Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Qualifications: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Qualifications: Current national MA certification such as Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.
