Position Overview

Dameron Hospital is a fully accredited, non‑profit, 200+ bed community hospital providing acute and tertiary care to San Joaquin County residents. This position involves the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment. The selected candidate will provide effective leadership to the nursing care team, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and quality care while adapting to various patient care and operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients and their families.
  • Function as a proficient nurse within the assigned unit’s competency checklist.
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the nursing care team ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Participate in the Respiratory Protection Program and employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures.
  • Perform duties across all patient care and operational areas as needed with reasonable accommodations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Must meet the educational requirements to qualify for a Registered Nurse license; B.S.N. preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months of recent experience within the specialty area. Experience in Medical‑Surgical, Orthopedic, or Telemetry units is required along with demonstrating clinical competencies (e.g., interpreting EKG rhythms by exam). National certification in medical‑surgical care or critical care nursing is required.
  • Licenses/Certificates:
    • Current California Registered Nurse License
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification from AHA
    • Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
    • For Surgery & Emergency Department assignments: Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate from AHA
