We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join a dedicated lab at a thriving community hospital in Minneapolis. In this full-time, first-shift role, you will conduct clinical laboratory examinations, ensure accurate diagnostic results, and play a pivotal role in advancing patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct both routine and sophisticated clinical laboratory examinations across fields such as chemistry, hematology, and immunology, following established guidelines.
- Evaluate results for precision, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
- Assist in specimen collection and prepare samples for subsequent testing as necessary.
- Document all procedures meticulously and contribute to training new staff or interns while upholding lab quality standards.
- Ensure a clean and secure work environment while complying with all regulatory and accrediting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or a comparable allied health degree.
- Certification: Must obtain ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) within one year of employment and maintain certification ongoing.
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Strong independent decision-making, problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail, particularly in documentation and quality control.
