Job Description
Position Overview
International in San Antonio Tx is hiring for a Manufacturing Quality Liaison! This exciting opportunity requires serving as the liaison to ensure consistent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams by actively participating in Real Time Management (RTM) meetings, pulse meetings, and quality gate reviews within assembly. The role is critical in maintaining product integrity, upholding manufacturing standards, and continuously improving processes to enhance overall quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Responds with a sense of urgency to customer call in the assembly line
- Discerns the nature of a line call, resolves it when possible, delegates to the correct department, or escalates to an Engineer
- Practices problem solving on deviations in assembly by identifying root causes, developing short-term corrective actions, and working with the Engineer to create and deploy long-term corrective actions
- Proactively communicates critical and detailed information to the production Supervisor, Team Leader, and Engineering
- Initiates problem solving activities and utilizes root cause analysis tools in partnership with production leadership and engineering teams
- Attends and actively participates in RTM and Pulse meetings
- Demonstrates overall safe work behavior, including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adherence to safety guidelines
- Identifies and corrects potentially unsafe situations/conditions, escalating to the appropriate team to improve safety
- Follows accepted housekeeping assignments (5S) and ensures work areas meet acceptable housekeeping and safety standards
- Collaborates with peers to accomplish projects or tasks and participates in group cost improvement events, discussions, and meetings
- Keeps supervisors and peers informed about accomplishments, quality/safety issues, problems, and/or changes
- Performs routine inspections on processes and tooling to assure work output meets specifications on shop floor paperwork
- May perform assembly and installation of parts using hand tools, air tools, and/or power tools
- May perform fitting, bolting, or otherwise connecting components and equipment according to work instructions and specifications
- Utilizes expertise in one or more areas of production or production support
- Actively solves problems within the work team by escalating for appropriate support and involving cross-functional teams as necessary
- Mentors, trains, and develops other team members
- Drives continuous improvement activities within work teams to reduce waste
- Contributes knowledge to improve Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience Required: Either a minimum of two years of manufacturing/production experience, or one year of manufacturing/production experience plus one year of technical/tooling experience, or successful completion of the International STX Continuous Improvement (CI) Program
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee)
- Must meet physical requirements, including the ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, twist, kneel, squat, crawl, climb using both arms and legs, and perform tasks that require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 15-45 pounds; and must be able to use vibrating tools and distinguish basic colors
- Demonstrates ability to perform accurate MES defect entry and closure, and to utilize International systems for effective problem solving and root cause analysis
