Systems Engineer Jobs

Position Overview

In this role, the candidate will provide engineering support for the implementation of a portion of the program’s systems engineering. To succeed in this role, you must have systems engineering development lifecycle experience using an Agile methodology. The position is full time, on-site in the Dallas TX metro.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and develop software.
• Assist in providing technical information and clarification during the entire software development lifecycle—from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Perform solution decomposition from customer epics to capabilities to features to stories according to SAFe Agile practices.
• Apply systems engineering expertise to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development effort.
• Engage with SMEs from other disciplines to fully understand the solution and document the designs.

Required Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience; or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 years’ experience.
• An active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Demonstrated systems engineering and technical experience with software systems development.
• Experience in agile software development activities, including system-level design specification and integration test and verification activities (full SE lifecycle).
• Domain experience in IC GEOINT, including familiarity with common GEOINT still imagery data formats.
• Experience in the development of ICDs, APIs, and system specifications as a primary author.
• Experience using the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in cloud or cloud-hybrid deployment environments.
• Ability to interact effectively with customer and consumer communities for technical exchange meetings and design briefings.
• Experience working in an Agile development team environment with multidisciplinary engineers and stakeholders, developing system solutions to meet customer requirements, requirements decomposition, and experience with CONOPS development.
• Experience working on teams addressing solution definition, decomposition, design, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience in development of containerized software system architectures.
• Ability to function independently in the development and revision of existing ICDs, APIs, and system specifications in response to contract modifications.
• Program experience with requirements development and/or requirements maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with streaming data formats including Full Motion Video and Moving Target Indicator data.
• Strong communications skills to support technical exchange meetings and design briefings.
• Engineering experience working in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodology that ensures high quality software is built and released to end-users quickly and within cost and schedule parameters.
• Experience using MBSE processes and tools to capture systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tools.
• Domain experience with active data types supported by NSGPDDs.
• Thorough understanding of the 12 Factor App concepts for service development.
• Strong experience with Confluence as a communications medium.
