Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst

Position Overview

The Central Finance department at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst II. This role is responsible for data analytics, performance measurement support, ongoing data collection, reporting, data visualizations, and information dissemination. The analyst will implement the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications while identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues to enhance business decision-making. Reporting to a Data Trust Analytic Team Leader or similar governance, this role will provide expert leadership, serve as a complex technical resource, and collaborate with various analytic and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data analytics and support performance measures including ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, and data visualizations.
• Implement the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications and resolve technical problems.
• Enhance business decision-making capabilities through effective use of business intelligence applications.
• Engage in data exploration using complex business intelligence tools and apply knowledge of relational database structures.
• Serve as a resource on complex technical and business matters and provide leadership within the workgroup.
• Collaborate with analytic and central engineering teams to support departmental strategies.
• Make resourceful decisions to achieve positive outcomes for patients, visitors, staff, and students.
• Recommend changes and improvements to existing departmental systems and processes.
• Respond to urgent situations by assessing importance and managing communications appropriately.
• Prepare incident/occurrence reports as necessary and prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
• Complete mandatory training programs related to Epic and other analytics tools.
• Conduct data mining, manage data collection, and present user-friendly reports for various audiences.
• Report and follow up on software issues that may delay workflow.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Six years of related experience, including three years in data analytics.
• Previous experience with Power BI.
• Additional education or experience may substitute for the required qualifications per the JHU equivalency formula.

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: $73,300 - $128,300 Annually ($100,800 targeted; Commensurate w/experience)
