Assembly Engineer – Electronics Manufacturing (Full Time, 1st Shift – Anaheim, CA)

We’re looking for an Assembly Engineer to join our team and support production through process planning, documentation, and engineering expertise.

Position Summary

The Assembly Engineer will interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), customer specifications, and quality notes to develop clear and accurate work instructions for our production teams. This position works closely with manufacturing, quality, and process engineering to ensure every job meets Murrietta Circuits’ standards of excellence and customer requirements.

This is a full-time, on-site position (first shift) at our Anaheim facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret customer documentation including drawings, BOMs, assembly notes, and specifications.
  • Create detailed assembly and inspection instructions for operators and inspectors.
  • Define manufacturing processes including SMT, wave solder, selective solder (KISS), conformal coating, and testing as required by customer contracts.
  • Use Aegis FactoryLogix software for process planning, traceability, and work instruction creation.
  • Collaborate with SMT programming, quality, and test engineers to ensure complete documentation and production readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline documentation, setup, and assembly flow.
  • Participate in process verification and troubleshooting as needed on the production floor.
  • Ensure all documentation meets customer and AS9100 quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • US Persons only.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: in Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or closely related field).
  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB assembly.
  • Understanding of: SMT, thru-hole, and mixed-technology PCB assembly.
  • Ability: to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and customer specs.
  • Proficiency: in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP or MES systems.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Aegis FactoryLogix or other MES software.
  • Familiarity with Mycronic SMT equipment, KISS selective solder systems, AOI, and X-ray inspection.
  • Experience creating process documentation in accordance with AS9100 or IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM tools for reviewing or creating assembly-related data.
  • Exposure to conformal coating processes, wave solder, and aqueous cleaning systems (Heller ovens, washers, etc.).
