Position Overview
As a Property Claims Adjuster at Stillwater Insurance Group, you will investigate coverage, measure damage, and adjust homeowner property insurance claims to final resolution. You will work both in-office and in the field—primarily from our Jacksonville, Florida office—ensuring prompt, professional, and accurate claim management. Key Responsibilities
- Coverage Research & Application: Investigate, research, and apply coverage for a broad range of residential and commercial policies across all 50 states.
- Claims Resolution: Resolve coverage questions swiftly, protect company rights, and prepare position papers and resolution plans.
- Correspondence: Draft non-waiver letters, reservation of rights letters, disclaimers, and other essential claim documents.
- Communication: Manage all communications professionally with involved parties, ensuring timely responses.
- Financial Accountability: Oversee claim and expense reserving practices and adjust reserves based on claim development.
- Field Investigation & Cost Justification: Decide on internal field investigations or provide cost justification for outsourcing.
- Estimating & Skill Development: Use Xactimate skills to produce estimates and commit to advancing damage measurement techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Prior claims resolution experience in multiple states.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS/BBA) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of property policies and loss reserving.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with proficiency in MS Excel and damage estimating techniques.
- Required adjuster licenses with a commitment to ongoing continuing education.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for inspections, investigations, and conferences.
