Job Description

Position Overview

The Administrative Manager oversees the administrative, operational, and financial activities of a department or medical care unit, typically with oversight of 1-2 areas. This role ensures the successful coordination and delivery of day-to-day operations, including staffing and administration of policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish major schedules, assign tasks, and allocate manpower, space, and equipment to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Administer departmental contracts and grants per MSMC policies and sponsor requirements, maintaining records, reports, and controls.
  • Recommend changes in operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in determining fiscal requirements, prepare budgetary recommendations, and monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
  • Ensure adherence to budget parameters.
  • Maintain liaison with all levels of administration, faculty, and external organizations to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
  • Prepare operational and financial reports and analyses, highlighting progress, trends, and recommendations.
  • Serve as the department’s liaison regarding MSMC policies, personnel administration, grant administration, and budgetary control.
  • Interpret and administer personnel policies including hiring, performance appraisals, training, discipline, and salary recommendations while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in planning short and long-range departmental goals and evaluate proposals for new programs and expansion of existing ones.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance programs to meet standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as JCAHO, CARF, and relevant state and city health departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience (with supervisory experience preferred).
  • Minimum of 4+ years of related business experience with competency in general personnel practices, accounting, budgeting principles, and management of major administrative functions.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: $67,530.77 - $104,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need.
