JavaScript Developer Advocate - US (remote)

Position Overview

Organization: Vonage API Group Product | Location: USA (East Coast preferred; Central Region and West Coast considered). Vonage API is the emerging leader in the$100B+ cloud communications platform (CPaaS)market, trusted by customers such as Airbnb, Viber, TikTok, and Snapchat. In this role, as aJavaScript Developer Advocate, you will support the developer community by providing expert guidance on our JavaScript SDKs, offering valuable API feedback to internal teams, and creating demos and documentation to help developers connect with Vonage’s innovative communications solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Inspire and equip developers to change the way the world communicates.
• Build and maintain API libraries, quick start samples, example apps, and other developer tools.
• Create both technical and non‐technical presentations and engage with the developer community through social media, streaming, webinars, and blog posts.
• Attend meetups, roadshows, boot camps, and hackathons to build in-person relationships with developers.
• Support community developers on Slack, Stack Overflow, and other forums while providing valuable feedback on the JavaScript SDKs and APIs.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional JavaScript experience.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
• Experience writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience.
• Experience delivering technical talks at meetups, events, or within an organization.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mobile platforms (iOS/Android using OBJ-C, Swift, Java) or backend web technologies (Node.js, PHP).
• Previous experience in an advocacy role.
• Experience building SDKs.
• Familiarity with WebRTC.
