Position Overview

The Technical Marketing Manager is a critical member of the Inolex marketing team. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Commercialization, you will sit at the intersection of science and storytelling to bring Inolex’s imaginative products to the market in a compelling way. You will collaborate with R&D, sales, marketing, and product teams to lead product launches, drive demand, and ensure our customers see the value and innovation in every ingredient we offer. This role is ideal for someone who understands cosmetic formulations and ingredient functionality and who can translate technical benefits into compelling narratives that resonate with formulators, brand marketing, and end consumers.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision responsibilities of team members.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, directs, and manages new and current team members; oversee the daily workflow and assignments.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback.
  • Handle discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Organize and oversee the work of assigned team members.
  • Provide leadership to team members to ensure all department/company goals and objectives are met.
  • Provide clear vision, roles, and responsibilities for team members and regularly evaluate performance.
  • Communicate and lead corrective actions and changes needed to improve operations and performance.

Job Duties:

Commercialization and Product Leadership:

  • Lead new product launch projects to achieve business goals of 4-6 sustainable ingredients commercialized annually.
  • Support new product introductions with claims support, sales feedback, and go-to-market toolkit.
  • Partner with R&D and Regulatory to ensure marketing claims are substantiated and aligned with regional requirements.
  • Coordinate and run sales trainings.
  • Work closely with formulation/application labs to design project briefs for prototypes that demonstrate ingredient performance.

Customer-Centric Marketing:

  • Meet and engage with global customers and distributors to present ingredients and understand evolving formulations, consumer trends, and sustainability goals.
  • Lead technical consultations and presentations, contributing directly to customer acquisition and project conversations.
  • Support the sales organization to deliver tailored marketing materials for meetings, exhibitions, seminars, webinars (quarterly), and other industry functions.
  • Advocate for Inolex’s brand leadership in sustainable chemistry through consistent messaging in marketing assets and at industry events.

Data-Based Marketing:

  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns aligned with business priorities.
  • Create compelling ingredient stories grounded in performance data and market insight.
  • Develop customer-facing materials that align with brand tone and scientific integrity.
  • Create tailored marketing materials, ads, e-blasts, and social media to increase sales leads, prioritizing increasing samples and measuring quarterly to optimize costs per sales lead.
  • Coordinate or support award submissions for ingredients.

Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor global beauty and personal care trends and sales call reports to inform content strategy and inspire new application projects.
  • Identify customer and consumer problems to be solved and market opportunities for existing or new ingredients.
  • Update the competitive database and identify competitive positioning opportunities for existing and new ingredients.

Required Qualifications

Educational and Professional Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in the Personal Care industry in Sales, Marketing, and/or Research & Development.
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience in a B2B environment with a deep understanding of formulation applications.
  • Preferably 1-3 years of experience in a formulation or R&D role within beauty or personal care.
  • Working knowledge of Personal Care formulation and applications testing.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Marketing (with accompanying technical work experience) or a related field.
  • Ability to connect technical features to consumer-relevant benefits and trends.

Critical Skill Set:

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative.
  • Passion for beauty and consumer insight.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and clean beauty frameworks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily located in an office; must be able to work at a computer approximately 8 hours per day.
  • Some lifting may be required for packing and shipping of boxes, up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel up to 15% primarily domestic with some international travel possible.
