Data Insights Analyst

Position Overview

San Diego Wave Fútbol Club is on a mission to build a world-class home for players and fans. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Insights Analyst who will leverage data to provide actionable insights that enhance team performance, inform strategic decision-making, and optimize player development. This role collaborates with coaching staff, performance analysts, and other stakeholders to support the team's competitive objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and maintain various data sources related to player performance.
• Develop and manage databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of performance data using statistical methods and data visualization tools.
• Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate insights and trends to coaching staff and management.
• Evaluate player performance and injury data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with coaches to design and analyze strategic game plans based on data-driven insights.
• Work closely with department heads to align analytical insights with team objectives.
• Present findings clearly to foster a culture of data-informed decision-making.
• Stay updated on industry trends, analytical methods, and emerging technologies in sports analytics while proposing process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Sports Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a sports or athletic environment.
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong understanding of soccer and performance analytics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
