Position Overview
Are you a strategic procurement leader with a passion for optimizing supply chain operations in the Consumer Goods industry? As the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) – Consumer Goods, you will lead sourcing strategies, enhance supplier relationships, drive cost efficiency, and implement sustainable procurement practices for a premier company in Nashville, TN.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a robust procurement strategy aligned with overall business goals, driving cost efficiency, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation.
- Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring high quality standards.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and financial efficiencies across procurement operations.
- Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, and operations teams to streamline logistics and ensure timely delivery.
- Oversee contract negotiations and manage vendor performance to maintain compliance and strategic alignment.
- Lead sustainability and ESG initiatives by integrating ethical and environmental considerations into sourcing practices.
- Utilize procurement technologies and data analytics to drive continuous process improvement and informed decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management within the consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record of optimizing sourcing strategies, reducing costs, and ensuring product quality.
- Strong strategic thinking with exceptional negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing procurement teams.
- Proficiency in leveraging procurement technologies, analytics, and automation for enhanced decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree (MBA or related) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Business Administration.
- Experience in global sourcing, contract negotiations, and category management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and specialized procurement software.
