Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Sales to lead Hôtel Swexan’s sales strategy and business development efforts. In this role you will drive revenue across group, corporate, leisure, and event segments, positioning the hotel as Dallas’ premier independent luxury destination. You will lead a high-performing team, cultivate long-term client partnerships, and collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Rooms, and Marketing teams to deliver a unified commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the annual sales and marketing plan, including budget and forecast.
- Provide regular sales performance reports with forecasting, budget variance analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
- Oversee hiring, coaching, and ongoing development of the sales team.
- Ensure a smooth transition from sales to operations for exceptional guest experiences.
- Partner with Revenue Management to align proactive sales with pricing and distribution strategies.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure messaging and collateral reflect the hotel’s luxury identity.
- Lead proactive sales efforts to drive new business while nurturing existing partnerships.
- Oversee high-value negotiations with key accounts to ensure profitability and brand alignment.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, luxury travel forums, and client functions.
- Maintain strong cross-departmental partnerships to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Monitor the business pipeline and implement corrective action as needed to achieve revenue goals.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop luxury-standard collateral and promotions.
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Engage with industry organizations to position Hôtel Swexan as a leader in the Dallas luxury market.
- Balance short-notice requests with long-term projects under strict deadlines.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of account activity in CRM and reporting systems.
- Track and analyze sales performance, providing accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Ensure compliance of contracts with brand and legal standards.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the hotel’s commercial success.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within luxury hotels or resorts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or Marketing preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Proven track record of growing revenues and exceeding sales goals through proactive business development.
- Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrable success in team development and performance management.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of luxury service standards and high-net-worth as well as corporate clientele expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with independent luxury hotels or global luxury brands.
- Established knowledge of the Dallas market and client network.
- Exposure to adjacent luxury sectors such as real estate, private clubs, or lifestyle brands.
