Job Description
Position Overview
Innovative Systems, Inc. is seeking an entry-level User Experience Designer responsible for all phases of the design process—from initial research to high-fidelity prototypes for product redesigns and new offerings. You will collaborate with users, stakeholders, and global teams to develop intuitive and engaging experiences. Location: Work at our World Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA with a flexible hybrid schedule (in-office 2-3 days per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and analyze user research to uncover needs, pain points, and behaviors.
- Translate insights into sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, and other deliverables for intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams for seamless design integration.
- Support the design team with UX decisions for both existing features and new initiatives.
- Assist in developing usability testing plans for internal and external users alongside senior designers.
- Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on designs incorporating stakeholder and user feedback.
- Partner with colleagues and stakeholders across global teams.
- Participate in design critiques and offer constructive input for continuous improvement.
- Champion user-centered thinking and share innovative design ideas across teams.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of professional experience designing and delivering software.
- A portfolio demonstrating proficiency across the full design process.
- Proven ability to translate requirements into user experiences that align with client needs and vision.
- Strong grasp of Design Thinking and user-centered design principles.
- Ability to rapidly iterate on designs and solutions.
- Experience translating complex concepts into clear, user-friendly designs.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate design processes, ideas, and solutions.
- Proficiency in UX tools such as Miro and Figma.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Willingness to travel 10-15% for client site visits across the UK, United States, and other locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise-level technology.
- Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering or Sanction Screening software.
- Awareness of accessibility guidelines.
- Experience working within Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
