AGRICULTURAL FIELD AIDE

Position Overview

The Fresno County Department of Agriculture is seeking an Agricultural Field Aide. Incumbents perform routine tasks for various Department programs, including pest detection on public and private property and assisting Agricultural/Standards Specialists in special surveys and pest eradication activities. This is a Full-time Seasonal extra-help position for seasons running March through November. Compensation: $16.95 per hour. Note that temporary extra-help positions are paid hourly for actual hours worked, are not entitled to benefits, do not obtain permanent status, and serve at the will of the department head.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks in support of various agricultural programs, including pest detection on public and private properties.
• Assist Agricultural/Standards Specialists with special surveys and pest eradication activities.
• Follow established guidelines and procedures as set by the Department.
• Work on seasonal extra-help basis during the March through November period.

Required Qualifications

• Age: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Education: Possession of a U.S. high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• License: Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent.
