Job Description

Position Overview

New Grad RN Residency - Medical City Plano – Start Dates: May 2026 - September 2026.

The Residency Program is a year-long, paid initiative designed to provide hands-on clinical training,
critical thinking development, and a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents.
This program helps guide you through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document care promptly.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify the provider when intervention is needed.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring clear understanding.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • BSN is strongly preferred.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • Less than 6 months RN experience at start of residency.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.
