As a Senior Industrial Simulation Developer at OTTO By Rockwell Automation, you will create and run simulations that optimize robot fleets and system solutions. Working as part of the Industrial Simulation and Analytics Services (ISA) team, you will lead modeling and simulation projects, consult with customers, and collaborate with Systems Engineering, Applications Engineering, and Project Management teams. This remote-based role focuses on building material flow strategies for both existing and future products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create discrete event simulations for material handling systems to establish equipment, layout, and operational requirements, identify traffic bottlenecks, and evaluate expected performance.
- Consult with project leads, sales team members, and customers to understand requirements and collect necessary inputs.
- Analyze simulation results and recommend improvements for facility layout and material flow design.
- Present simulation results to teams of engineers, sales, and clients.
- Validate models against real-world data to ensure accuracy relative to the product portfolio.
- Troubleshoot simulation issues and enhance the simulation library and internal templates for improved functionality, accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the development team to assess the impact of new features and products.
- Recommend product features and improvements to the Product and Engineering teams to drive system optimization.
- Develop simulation models to assist Sales & Marketing in demonstrating company products and capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada or US (no employment visa sponsorship available for this role).
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Proven success in executing simulation projects that evaluate facility or process designs, mitigate deployment risks, and identify operational opportunities.
- Experience in proposing, testing, and communicating industrial engineering principles to improve solution feasibility.
- Familiarity with discrete event simulation tools (preferably Simio and/or Emulate3D).
- A customer-first mindset with excellent communication skills for conveying model functionality and assumptions.
- Self-driven learner capable of adapting to evolving project scopes and priorities.
Benefits & Perks
- Compensation: Total target compensation ranges from $91,040.00 - $136,560.00 CAD Annual for Canada-based candidates and $99,280.00 - $148,920.00 USD Annual for US-based candidates. Actual pay is determined based on skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
