Position Overview

Foot Locker is seeking a Senior Director Brand Marketing. This leader will set the brand marketing strategy and be responsible for creating a culturally relevant marketing plan that drives growth, builds our community and creates brand love. The ideal candidate brings a true passion for sneaker culture and basketball and is an experienced marketer who builds disruptive campaigns, activations and events that generate social conversation, earned media and brand lift.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Planning & Cultural Impact:

  • Translate brand heritage and values into culturally relevant storytelling across multiple campaigns leveraging partnerships, collaborations and social platforms to connect with core consumers.
  • Develop and oversee a culture-led basketball growth strategy – maximizing NBA partnership, team deals, community connectivity, and product priorities to drive brand buzz and strengthen market position.
  • Oversee an innovative, multi-platform social and influencer strategy – driving creativity and leveraging creator voices to amplify the Foot Locker story across key platforms.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and key internal partners to ensure product alignment and commercial objectives are met for each campaign.
  • Develop and articulate clear briefs to inspire creative teams—both in-house and partner agencies—to produce engaging, meaningful, and culture defining content and campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency in brand voice, tone, and storytelling across all touchpoints.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Translate brand priorities and strategic marketing pillars into actionable marketing plans that drive awareness, engagement, and loyalty among our core consumers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with merchants, creative, media, and digital teams to ensure cohesive seasonal planning and execution.
  • Partner with Partner Marketing to build breakthrough co-marketing plans that amplify key vendor stories in a distinctly Foot Locker way.
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing to build a holistic, elevated GTM plan that delivers a consistent and unified consumer experience.
  • Champion the consumer in every room — creating insight-based ideas that deliver on the Foot Locker brand platform and promise.

Analytics & Growth:

  • Define KPIs across marketing campaigns and activations, tying results back to business objectives.
  • Leverage analytics, social listening and campaign measurement to optimize strategy and fuel iterative improvement.
  • Deliver actionable insights and regular performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Benchmark against competitors to keep brand presence innovative and competitive.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of marketers building capability, confidence and bench.
  • Provide strategic partnership to key cross-functional peers and leads across the organization; drive collaboration and effective decision making.
  • Set clear objectives, workflows, and priorities that balance creativity, agility, and operational rigor.
  • Coach and develop team members, ensuring opportunities for growth and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage external partners, creators, and agencies to expand creative capacity and production scale.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 10+ years in brand marketing; 5+ years leading teams.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
  • Experience in partnership development and execution, including brand collaborations and influencer marketing.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional leadership and collaboration.
  • Expertise and fluency in cultural trends and the world of hoops.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Background in culturally driven brands strongly preferred.

Benefits & Perks

Compensation: The annual base salary range is $175,000 - $220,000/year. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data. This is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package.
