Position Overview

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Marketing Specialist to join our West Division, based in either Los Angeles or Sacramento, California. This high-impact role is ideal for a forward-thinking, strategic, creative professional who thrives in a collaborative environment to translate business objectives into compelling deliverables for our clients. With significant autonomy, you will lead the development of client-focused proposals, qualifications, and presentations that reflect Gilbane’s brand and value proposition. As a key partner to business development, you’ll shape campaigns, elevate market visibility, and craft narratives that differentiate Gilbane in a competitive landscape. This role will sit primarily in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and production of client qualifications, proposals, and presentations with a focus on quality, creativity, and meeting deadlines independently.
  • Manages content development and pursuits process directly with the Business Development team.
  • Crafts compelling story content about clients, projects, people, and Gilbane to address unique client needs.
  • Ensures all external content and client deliverables align with Gilbane’s brand standards and messaging guidelines.
  • Participates in presell meetings and strategic brainstorms.
  • Leads the development and execution of marketing campaigns, branded content, awards and speaking submissions, and local event support to increase market visibility.
  • Develops internal and external communications including newsletters, press releases, website content, social media posts, eblasts, and other digital channels.
  • Oversees the organization and maintenance of digital assets, ensuring efficient categorization and searchability while guiding entry-level team members.
  • Leads data maintenance for the assigned geography to ensure data integrity.
  • Conducts market research to understand client needs, key trends, and top-of-mind issues; communicates findings with BD partners and local leadership as needed.
  • Leads the close-out process of sales and marketing deliverables.
  • Builds a robust understanding of the AEC industry and Gilbane’s capabilities on both local and national levels.
  • Builds and maintains a strong operational network to facilitate storytelling and identify value-add opportunities.
  • Visits jobsites regularly to capture content such as photos and interviews for future use, ensuring organized cataloging.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality external content and ensure a cohesive approach to problem-solving.
  • Mentors, coaches, and trains less experienced team members.
  • Manages multiple deliverables concurrently while maintaining strong organizational skills.
  • Participates in professional or community organizations and explores leadership opportunities.
  • Stays abreast of new marketing trends and tools.
  • Supports a positive and inclusive work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in the marketing and/or AEC industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign), PowerPoint, Unanet (or similar CRM), and Photography.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Advanced writing, critical thinking, and process management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Gilbane services and the construction management industry.
