Position Overview
Hospital Cooperative Laundry is seeking a proactive and bilingual HR Support Specialist to join our team. This role provides direct support to the HR Director and works closely with HR staff at our Pueblo location. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, training, employee communications, and supporting day-to-day HR operations – including assisting employees with basic benefit questions and managing the initial intake for leave of absence requests and workers compensation.
HCL is a cooperative healthcare laundry owned by the hospitals we serve. Today, we serve 50 major hospitals and over 500 associated clinics along the Front Range of Colorado and Wyoming, with a diverse workforce of over 500 employees processing 50 million pounds of linen per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily administrative and operational support to the HR Director.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding process.
- Support training programs by scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and tracking participation.
- Collaborate with HR Pueblo to ensure alignment on HR initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees with general HR inquiries, including basic questions regarding benefits (e.g., health insurance, 401(k), PTO) and managing initial intake for leave of absence requests and workers compensation claims.
- Maintain and update employee records and documentation in HRIS/Paycom and physical files.
- Assist in the recruitment process including sourcing candidates and coordinating interviews.
- Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees to ensure understanding of HR policies and resources.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling employee data and sensitive information.
- Support HR events and employee engagement activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, employee support, or administrative HR functions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and processes clearly
- Knowledge of basic employee benefits and leave procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and HR systems such as Paycom is preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and support teams in the Pueblo location
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting orientations and training sessions
- Familiarity with Colorado employment laws and HR compliance standards
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
