An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to take on a leadership role overseeing the operations of central and satellite hospital pharmacies. This position emphasizes safe, efficient workflows and regulatory compliance, while fostering patient safety, operational excellence, and a collaborative team environment. The role involves managing pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, as well as driving continuous improvement through strategic initiatives and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold organizational mission, vision, and values according to health-system policies.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, payroll, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to pharmacy team members.
- Oversee operational workflows including ADC and automation, medication preparation, dispensing, carousel operations, compounding, and medication delivery for maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>, and serve as the designated compliance officer.
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff and nursing to implement medication therapy best practices and stewardship principles.
- Participate actively in site and system-wide multidisciplinary committees.
- Manage technology, automation, scheduling, regulatory adherence, staff development, and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school.
- Active pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure within 3 months of hire.
- Minimum of five years hospital pharmacy experience.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills; experienced in managing change and process improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities suitable for coaching and mentoring.
- Solid understanding of hospital pharmacy operations, automation, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Epic, and pharmacy informatics systems.
- Reliable attendance, flexible scheduling, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- PGY2 residency in pharmacy administration/management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years in a supervisory or lead pharmacy role.
- Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 HSPAL residencies or equivalent.
- Board Certifications such as BCPS, BCIDP, or BCCCP preferred.
- Masters degree in business or healthcare administration.

Compensation
