Position Overview
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Nurse Associate (RN) with our Dermatology team at our Center for Advanced Care South Loop. In this role you will partner with the clinical team to provide patients the highest quality of care – from primary and specialty care to on-site X-rays, laboratory services, and echo/stress testing. You will coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for a group of patients while ensuring strong collaboration between clinical research, physicians, and patients. As a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, you will assist with bedside procedures and support clinical research activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Conducts, responds to, follows up on, and triages patient phone calls to the physician as appropriate.
- Assists the physician in the clinic or procedure area with patient examinations, diagnostic tests, and/or therapeutic procedures while continuously monitoring vital signs of patients under conscious sedation.
- Counsels patients on lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using appropriate psychosocial communication.
- Communicates with clinic coordinators regarding follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing, and necessary scheduling for patients.
- Arranges patient admissions and coordinates the ordering of tests/procedures with fellows, attendings, and other nursing staff.
- Assists in coordinating research programs by screening patients for clinical research and outcome programs, maintaining office file notes, reviewing charts, entering data, and aiding in data summarization and analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a community health setting.
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of two years' experience working as an RN.
