As an Engineer Associate - I, you will provide technical support for engineering, design, planning, operation, documentation, and maintenance of revenue metering equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Meter Engineer to ensure compliance through random sample tests, periodic evaluations, acceptance tests, and obsolete meter elimination.
- Perform ongoing meter failure analysis to determine future needs and support the transition to an Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI).
- Assist with Smart Meter (AMI) initiatives including Opt-Out protocols, integration of Meter Data Management with CIS and OMS, and resolving regulatory and customer concerns.
- Provide technical support to customers on revenue metering and sub-metering issues.
- Ensure compliance with NERC standards by maintaining up-to-date evidence and updating Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets as needed.
- Support metering standards and specifications for renewable energy programs and serve as a back-up in day-to-day meter operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint, along with data gathering, research, and basic programming in Excel.
- Familiarity with revenue metering equipment and regulatory compliance processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam or intent to pass within one year of employment.
- A minimum of six months of direct work experience in related engineering tasks.
- Experience with metering standards, NERC compliance requirements, and the use of spectrum analyzers.
