Computer Aided Design Drafter

Position Overview

Position: Mechanical CAD Drafter (Contract)
Location: Boston, MA
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Employment Type: Contract (3–6 months, potential for extension)

We are partnering with an innovative, fast-growing organization to support their mechanical engineering team with additional CAD drafting resources. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with engineers in a collaborative, startup-style environment focused on hardware development and intelligent automation. This role is ideal for early-career professionals, including recent graduates who are technically strong and proficient with modern CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed mechanical part and assembly drawings
• Translate 3D models into accurate, manufacturing-ready 2D documentation
• Support hardware development projects through clean, well-structured CAD deliverables
• Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineering team members
• Ensure drawings align with GD&T and manufacturing standards
• Provide CAD models to support simulation and analysis workflows

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of mechanical drafting experience, or strong internship/co-op/project experience
• Proficiency with SolidWorks; experience with Onshape is a plus
• Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS) is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of manufacturing best practices
• Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Clear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
