Position Overview

This position is located at Renaissance in Las Vegas – the largest smoke‐free, non-gaming hotel featuring 548 guest rooms, modern design, and vibrant amenities. The Safety and Security Officer is responsible for ensuring guest and employee protection, maintaining security protocols, and upholding hotel standards. Compensation: Hourly: $17.00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use proper radio etiquette at all times.
  • Maintain visual contact with the Front Desk/Night Auditor and the front door by remaining in the lobby area when not on property walks.
  • Review and maintain the daily activity log and ensure confidentiality regarding guest and employee incidents.
  • Conduct briefings with Guest Services staff at both the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Verify IDs of visitors/employees as necessary and access secured areas for authorized personnel.
  • Assist guests with room entry as per hotel standards and provide escorts when required.
  • Respond to emergency situations including medical incidents, security breaches, and guest complaints.
  • Investigate assault complaints and document all incident/accident reports clearly.
  • Monitor TV cameras (if applicable) and check for any safety hazards.
  • Administer First Aid, CPR, and the Heimlich Maneuver as necessary.
  • Patrol the area to ensure safety and maintain a secure environment free from unauthorized persons.
  • Issue and inventory pagers, radios, and keys on a daily basis, if applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or relevant experience in the hospitality or related field.
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours as required.
  • Physical capability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift, climb and descend stairways, and run when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Proven ability to handle stressful situations, multitask, and prioritize departmental functions.
  • A friendly, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.
  • Willingness to attend hotel meetings and trainings and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs.
