Position Overview
To be eligible to enlist in the U.S. Navy, candidates must be between the ages of 18-34. At any given moment, hundreds of complex networked computer systems are operating in tandem to keep ships and submarines operating at their best. The specialized training you’ll receive in this field will pave the way to careers in IT and network support, computer programming, web development and information security. Roles include Information Systems Technician, Cryptologic Technician Networks, and Intelligence Specialist, each ensuring reliable communications, cybersecurity, and intelligence operations for mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Ensure that networks and related systems are designed, operated properly, and that errors are corrected promptly to prevent mission interruptions (Information Systems Technician).
- Responsibilities: Execute offensive and defensive cyber operations, investigate threats, and protect critical communications (Cryptologic Technician Networks).
- Responsibilities: Collect and analyze intelligence data to create comprehensive briefings for high-ranking Navy officials (Intelligence Specialist).
