Position Overview
As the Senior UX UI Designer you will apply user-centered design principles to enhance The Contingent’s websites and products. This role involves designing complex applications, systems, and workflows while focusing on improving user experience, optimizing flows, and leveraging data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities
- Design wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.
- Establish and manage updates for component libraries concurrent with product design projects.
- Manage timelines to optimize productivity and deliver projects within allocated schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, engineers, marketers, and stakeholders—to gather requirements and translate user needs into innovative design solutions.
- Conduct user research and data-driven analysis to iterate designs and improve conversion rates, user engagement, and overall product performance.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure smooth handoffs and accurate implementation of design elements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our design process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in design, human-centered design, or a related field.
- Five plus years of professional UX or UI design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects.
- Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Axure.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, accessibility standards (including WCAG 2.0 AA/ADA), and design best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with design systems (e.g., Material Design or Bootstrap).
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with graphics and designing modern, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces for complex applications and integrations.
- Proficiency in additional prototyping tools and a solid grasp of user research methodologies, usability testing, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience in agile development environments and strong critical and creative thinking skills.
- A strong commitment to The Contingent’s mission along with an ability to work with diverse groups and a passion for operational, technical, and customer experience excellence.
Benefits & Perks
- Compensation: Full time (40hrs) exempt position with an annual salary range of $95,000 - $105,000 (estimated total compensation $105,000 - $115,000), based on qualifications and experience.
- Hybrid position located in Portland, Oregon, with a flexible work model (2-3 days in the office, 2-3 days remote) and core hours of 9-2 pm PST.
