Position Overview
The Buyer Loyalty and Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high value actions that enable customer growth and loyalty by developing the story and go‐to‐market strategy behind innovative features. They partner cross functionally to bring buyer products to market and ensure ongoing engagement post launch. As a Product Marketing contractor, you will work at the intersection of consumer product development and marketing—leading new product go‐to‐market strategy, product activation, and maximizing the lifetime value of buyers through targeted tactics. This is a 6-month contract position reporting to the Director of Buyer Product Marketing and requires your presence in the Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Owning the consumer product marketing strategy to drive awareness, adoption, and engagement of trust and reliability features that help buyers feel confident purchasing on the platform.
- Narrating the user journey, uncovering user insights, and identifying key needs to focus product roadmaps on the largest business opportunities.
- Leading competitive analysis on consumer product experiences to inform go‐to‐market plans.
- Partnering with product, marketing, and brand teams to determine what, where, how, and to whom key features and product launches are marketed.
- Defining the target audience, crafting clear positioning statements, and articulating Etsy’s unique value proposition for buyers.
- Serving as a key collaborator between the Product and Marketing organizations.
- Developing and aligning on-site and off-site marketing plans in collaboration with channel owners and the broader marketing team.
- Setting clear, measurable product marketing goals and tracking progress while continuously recommending improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of consumer product marketing experience, preferably operating in a multi-market or global role.
- A strong command of data and quantitative reasoning with proficiency in SQL considered a plus.
- Proven track record of driving growth and results through product marketing strategies and campaigns, especially with mobile-first approaches.
- Strong skills in both quantitative and qualitative user research methods with deep experience partnering with B2C consumer product teams.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts into impactful marketing messages.
- Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining strong relationships.
