Position Overview
Main Accounting is a tech-first, rapidly growing bookkeeping and accounting firm dedicated to empowering law firm owners with tailored, accurate financial reports and expert advisory services – with robust expertise in trust accounting compliance. We value a collaborative, highly efficient environment and are seeking a driven, no‐nonsense professional who excels at QuickBooks Online and managing multiple client accounts with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Posting and categorizing bank activity according to each client's schedule
- Reconciling:
- All bank, credit card, balance sheet and loan accounts, ensuring payroll, deductions, and liabilities are accurate each month
- Client trust liability accounts (specific to law firms or related industries) using 3- or 4-way reconciliation formats
- Accounts receivable as needed
- Reviewing Profit & Loss statements to ensure proper categorization
- Maintaining accurate and organized client records within Dropbox and Google Drive
- Producing standard and custom financial reports, including proprietary Cash Flow Forecast and Forecast vs. Actual Variance Analysis reports
- Tracking project progress, task status, and time daily in Financial Cents, and using Xenett to complete month-end close processes
- Working independently across multiple client accounts to deliver accurate, timely financials while taking full ownership of each client's reporting and meeting client-specific deadlines
- Updating internal client procedures as processes evolve
- Managing client workload autonomously in a remote work environment, ensuring a secure, distraction-free workspace
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business‑related field (or equivalent experience with accounting coursework)
- 2+ years of experience in a CPA firm, CAS firm, or similar multi‑client/multi‑entity environment
- 2+ years of recent QuickBooks Online experience required
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, Zoom, and Dropbox (or similar software) required
Preferred Qualifications
- QBO certification preferred
- Experience in law firm accounting and/or client trust liability account reconciliations
- Familiarity with payroll processing software like Gusto or ADP
- Experience with RightTool, Financial Cents, Xenett, SaaSant, and/or LiveFlow
- Experience or exposure to legal industry software like Clio, MyCase, or LawPay
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines across multiple clients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear financial reporting
- Genuine interest in working as part of a co‑supportive team while demonstrating initiative and adaptability

- Salary:$50,000-$70,000 per year, depending on experience
- Overtime available/expected in January and occasionally required in early parts of other months
