Position Overview

As a Lead HVAC Mechanical Engineer within our Luxury Retail Sector, you will drive design from concept to completion, ensuring excellence, sustainability, and exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare or direct the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Lead project and design efforts from concept design through completion.
- Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Conduct research and recommend feasible systems or equipment, evaluating products for application.
- Develop solutions to complex engineering problems and design challenges through direct involvement or advisory capacity.
- Ensure drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Advise and mentor less experienced designers and engineers, providing oversight and technical guidance.
- Direct activities of technical and administrative staff as needed.
- Continuously develop personal knowledge and expand the expertise of team members.
- Assist Technical Managers and Directors in establishing and implementing goals, policies, and standards.
- Develop tools, resources, and company practices while enforcing design and engineering standards.
- Oversee project quality through regular reviews and check-ins.
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners and customers to expand business opportunities.
- Engage with clients to coordinate requirements, proactively communicate throughout the project cycle, and resolve conflicts with owners, architects, and contractors.
- Perform project management responsibilities in collaboration with experienced project managers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field preferred with 11 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry standards, codes, and design guides.
- Understanding of earned value, contracts, and construction processes.
- Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification is required.
- High technical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and utilize various systems and processes.
- Ability to train others on systems and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Team-oriented with the ability to lead and collaborate with less experienced designers.
- Adaptability in changing work environments, with strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of FE exam, LEED and/or WELL accreditation is highly preferred.

- Salary ranges: New York: $112,263 – $194,583; Los Angeles: $106,742 – $185,014; Denver: $101,221 – $175,444; Philadelphia: $101,221 – $175,444; Las Vegas: $96,620 – $167,469.
