Job Description

Position Overview

Brown Advisory, an independent investment management and strategic advisory firm with client-first culture, is seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager to join our Technology Project Delivery team. In this role you will drive critical technology projects and support portfolio management activities – from implementing new tools for reporting and dashboards to ensuring rigorous project governance. The position is open across multiple locations including Abu Dhabi, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Delaware, Frankfurt, London, Nashville, New York, North Carolina, San Francisco, Singapore, Southern California, Tokyo, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Compensation: MD Salary Range: $140-$160k. Commensurate with experience and location. (Bonus or long term incentive eligibility, if applicable, is not included.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day project management activities on key initiatives.
  • Establish project governance in line with defined methodologies.
  • Manage resources, budgets, timelines, scope, and quality across projects.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans according to standards.
  • Remove obstacles, follow-up on tasks, hold team members accountable, and escalate issues as required.
  • Maintain and proactively resolve risks, issues, and impediments.
  • Oversee schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Establish routine meetings, including stand-up and Steering Committee cadences.
  • Drive broad stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • Assist with oversight of 3rd party suppliers engaged on projects.
  • Collaborate with team members on project management standards and activities.
  • Drive business process analysis and requirements gathering with subject matter experts and product owners.
  • Translate requirements into actionable development and user story increments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology/Systems or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a project manager supporting both application development and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with various project management methodologies including iterative development, Agile/Scrum, and structured approaches.
  • Proven ability in using project, workspace, and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Agile Studio, and Asana.
  • Experience in establishing, documenting, and maintaining process information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to understand and align with business goals and objectives.
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or regulated environments is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince II, Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Personal Attributes: Highly self-motivated and self-directed; strong customer- and client-service orientation; proven analytical and problem-solving skills; adaptable in a changing environment; keen attention to detail; and effective at driving stakeholders to consensus.
