Position Overview

In the role of Underwriting Associate within our Commercial Underwriting Unit, you will learn to evaluate risks for Workers’ Compensation, Business owners’, Commercial Auto, Professional Liability, and Umbrella policies for small businesses. This is a great opportunity to begin your career in the commercial insurance industry. The position is hybrid (in-office and remote) in Omaha, NE with a shift from 9AM to 5:30PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize company underwriting criteria to evaluate risks for various lines of business
  • Perform independent verification of insured's operations
  • Review and process change requests on in-force policies
  • Evaluate in-force policies at renewal
  • Participate in Underwriting Training for new products, directives, and processes
  • Participate in projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in underwriting is a plus, but not required
