Position Overview
Mechanical Engineer - Heavy Equipment at EXEK Recruiters, Ltd. in Nashville, TN. My client is a Billion Dollar International High Temperature Materials Manufacturer. Their Tennessee plant, located southwest of Nashville, is seeking a junior MECHANICAL ENGINEER who will be mentored by an experienced engineering team. In this high-visibility role, you will help set up and design/specify automated processing equipment including wet & dry chemical transfer systems, associated piping, drainage, pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, dust collectors, heavy lifting equipment, blowers, fans, furnaces, and work with the automation systems controlling these batch process systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, design, and specification of automated processing equipment for chemical transfer systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and control automation systems for batch processing.
- Provide hands-on support in the installation and troubleshooting of equipment including piping, drainage, pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, and dust collectors.
- Gain exposure to heavy lifting equipment operations such as forklifts, cranes, slinging systems, and grabbers.
- Participate actively in high-profile projects that demand both technical expertise and adaptability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or an equivalent engineering degree.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience with process equipment; internships or co-op projects in an industrial setting are acceptable.
- Demonstrated experience in a process-oriented manufacturing environment, ideally with high temperature materials such as metals, ceramics, glass, or petrochemicals.
- A solid understanding of computer programming and software development with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical system issues and conduct complex tests.
