Urgent Care Physician, UChicago Medicine Medical Group – Chicago and South Suburbs. Key Responsibilities
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to the assessed medical conditions.
- Refers patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as needed.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff.
- Participates in health promotion and education programs as applicable.
- Observes, assesses, and records patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Adheres to legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
- Demonstrates knowledge of drugs, non-pharmaceutical aids, proper dosages, and patient instruction.
- Maintains awareness of accreditation and certification requirements.
- Utilizes current principles and methods for effective medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Medical License in Illinois.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in the specified medical specialty.
- 3-5 years of experience is preferred.
- Completed a U.S. Residency Program.
