Position Overview
Are you passionate about helping families navigate the complex immigration process? We are seeking an Entry-Level Family-Based Immigration Paralegal in Miami to support attorneys in preparing immigration petitions, gathering supporting documents, and ensuring compliance with U.S. immigration laws. In this role you will assist with family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, and consular processing, while gaining hands-on experience in immigration law and legal document preparation. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and filing family-based petitions (Form I-130, Form I-485, Form I-765) and gather supporting documents such as marriage and birth certificates.
- Prepare adjustment of status and consular processing applications while ensuring compliance with USCIS and National Visa Center guidelines.
- Draft and file immigration waivers (I-601 and I-601A), collect affidavits, and monitor application progress.
- Communicate with clients by providing case updates, checklists for required documents, and answering basic immigration questions.
- Conduct legal research on current immigration laws, family-based visa regulations, and USCIS policies.
- Manage and organize both digital and physical immigration case files, tracking deadlines and USCIS processing times.
- Prepare supporting documents for immigration interviews and assist in client preparation for USCIS and consular appointments.
- Support attorneys in court hearings and immigration proceedings by preparing case summaries, legal briefs, and filing motions.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for Immigration Law and helping families navigate the legal process.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in legal research, case preparation, and understanding of USCIS guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Familiarity with legal software, case management systems, and basic office tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills, particularly fluency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken by immigration clients.
