Job Description

Position Overview

Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for a Medical Call Center Rep. (Scheduler) to join our Patient Connection Hub. In this role, you will help improve the customer service experience and streamline the appointment scheduling process for our patients. You will be responsible for scheduling appointments, processing referrals, retrieving medical records, and providing top-notch customer service in a state-of-the-art healthcare call center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in a fast-paced call center environment, promptly handling incoming calls and making professional outbound calls.
  • Schedule appointments electronically for both new and established patients, accurately entering data into the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Independently resolve patient and provider inquiries related to referrals, pre-authorizations/pre-certifications, and insurance verifications.
  • Index medical records according to defined processes.
  • Display exceptional commitment, compassion, and customer service towards patients, providers, and team members.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with clarity and proper grammar.
  • Exhibit strong telephone communication, etiquette skills, and maintain composure under stress.
  • Ensure excellent attendance, punctuality, and consistently meet established performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Solid research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must successfully pass a thorough background check and drug screen.
  • Proven track record of excellent attendance and punctuality, meeting established metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a medical office or call center environment.
  • Experience with pre-registration and scheduling processes.
