Job Description

Position Overview

Stericycle, now part of WM, is a U.S. based business-to-business services company dedicated to compliance-based solutions that protect people, promote health and well-being, and safeguard the environment. In this role as a Hospital Services Technician, you will travel between customer healthcare facilities—including Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO—to provide on-site, proactive waste container collection and exchange for programs such as Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. Work on a Daylight Shift (Mon–Fri, starting at 5:00AM, no weekends) with competitive compensation of $18.50/hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel between customer healthcare facilities to monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs.
  • Interact professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a rigid collection and service schedule.
  • Communicate duty status on a defined schedule.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Meet physical requirements including extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing (able to lift up to 55 pounds and push/pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds).

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years’ work experience or a High School diploma/equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills and tact in delivering superior customer service.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation between customer facilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with computer/handheld software applications, including spreadsheets and tools to track daily KPIs.
  • Willingness to obtain mandatory immunizations and required credentials as per customer specifications.
