Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for social media optimization through production and planning. Determine overall Internet marketing strategy and vision for social media channels and online communities, including RSS feeds, social news, blogs, images, and video. Establish an organizational marketing plan to attain sales and profitability goals. Utilize all forms of paid, owned, shared, and earned social media to project and protect the organization's image. Evaluate the effectiveness of social media marketing programs and initiatives, making changes as needed. Collaborate with technology and marketing departments in the identification of technologies and functional specifications for social media. Ensure systems capacity meets organizational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities, including:
  • Develop a comprehensive Social Media Strategy
  • Develop relevant content topics to reach the company’s target customers.
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, and written).
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and sales.
  • Conduct online advocacy and open a stream for cross-promotions.
  • Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.
  • Oversee design (i.e., Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, etc.).
  • Design, create, and manage promotions, and Social ad campaigns.
  • Manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation. Monitor online reviews and respond to each review.
  • Analyze key metrics and tweak strategy as needed.
  • Compile reports for management showing results (ROI).
  • Become an advocate for the company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues, and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate the ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan. Drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics.
  • Develop organizational elements to implement a proactive process for capturing happy, loyal customer online reviews.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy.
  • Implement ongoing education to remain highly effective.
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company.
  • Report notable threats to appropriate management.
  • Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media, content marketing, SEO, and social advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (Best Practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.
  • Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.

This job does not supervise exempt or non-exempt employees.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Hootsuite, SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Sprout Social, or HubSpot
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Google Analytics
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for web design, web production, and creative design across multiple platforms
  • Experience identifying and creating campaigns for the target audience
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, or related field
  • Two years of social media management experience

Language Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing and proofreading. Ability to communicate information effectively and persuasively. Ability to read and interpret documents.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.

Reasoning Ability

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage projects and prioritize the next steps with diverse peer and senior teams. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Computer Skills

Requires advanced computer skills, and familiarity with website content management, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
