Job Description

Position Overview

To serve as a video, audio, web-based, and photographic production specialist with the Indiana State Police. The role involves capturing video, taking photographs, creating recruit flyers and brochures, overseeing the agency’s multi‐media presence online, and producing video content for both external and internal use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take official photographs and video recordings at special events.
  • Produce and edit agency promotional and recruiting videos for broadcast on multiple platforms.
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of audio, web-based, photographic, and video production practices.
  • Monitor and maintain agency video productions posted on third-party websites.
  • Create content across all Indiana State Police social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and emerging platforms.
  • Develop a centralized ISP digital brand for distribution on social media and expand current recruiting campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Hiring and Recruiting Coordinators to align content with ISP’s brand and tradition of Courage, Commitment, and Character.
  • Develop strategies for engaging in social media conversations regarding ISP employment opportunities and newsworthy events.
  • Analyze social media metrics to gauge story engagement and remain current with trends for optimized content creation.
  • Assist the 13 District PIOs with content creation and distribution consistent with the ISP brand.
  • Maintain and perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on camera, lighting, video, audio, and computer equipment.
  • Coordinate, manage, and maintain all aspects of video and online productions.
  • Stay current on the latest production techniques, trends, and developments through training, publications, conferences, and seminars.
  • Advise the agency on the production of videos and web productions.
  • Edit and enhance photographs, audio, and video productions as required.
  • Post, monitor, and maintain agency presence on third-party video and photographic websites.
  • Perform other duties and essential functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Broad understanding of audio, video, and web-based productions.
  • Knowledge of computer-based audio and video editing software.
  • Minimum of 60 college credits in a related field and/or a minimum of two years of practical job-related experience.
  • Must be able to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of projects and work output.
  • Advanced knowledge of web-based video hosting services.
  • Capability to operate video and photographic equipment.
  • Ability to mix and edit sound for audio, video, and web-based productions.
  • Skilled in staging, producing, compiling, and editing video productions.
  • Willingness to work on deadlines, including same-day deadlines for select projects.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and collaborate with ISP Recruiters and PIOs across Indiana.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation and provide complete work history along with necessary documentation (high school transcript/GED certificate, college transcripts, technical certificates, and military DD214 if applicable) as part of the application process.
