Position Overview

Medical Assistant (Credentialed/Certified) at UI Health, Child and Youth Center. Location: Chicago, IL USA. Schedule: M-F 40 hrs/wk rotating Sat. Salary: $25.26 - 39.08 / Hourly Wage. Under the direction of a Physician, this role performs a variety of clinical and clerical services in an outpatient setting. UI Health, part of the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, is dedicated to comprehensive care, education, research, and health equity.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains and updates medical records and ensures completeness of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Assists with direct patient care tasks including obtaining vital signs, administering basic tests (e.g., EKG, spirometry), and specimen collection.
• Provides clerical support such as scheduling appointments, patient registration, and processing payments.
• Facilitates diagnostic procedures, specimen testing, equipment sterilization, and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Participates in quality control and process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with healthcare protocols.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by an approved certifying board (AAMA, AMT, NCCTI, or NHA).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification.
