Position Overview

In the fast-growing Electrical business class of our Building Engineering Services group, every role makes a difference. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical design and engineering efforts for diverse building projects—ranging from public to industrial—with a focus on engineering excellence and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers as part of a multidisciplinary team throughout project development.
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings concerning electrical systems.
  • Assume the electrical lead on multiple projects.
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions alongside the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
  • Coordinate workload through all stages to ensure documents are completed on schedule.
  • Track project financial aspects and adjust team efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as necessary.
  • Direct and mentor electrical engineering professionals on the team.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, and systems).
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license required.
  • Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, signal design, life safety systems, and building management systems.
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • Previous healthcare experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm.
  • Previous datacenter experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
