Clinical Nurse II- Oncology/BMT -Irvine- F/T, Night Shift

Position Overview

In this role, the clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for assigned patients, perform comprehensive nursing duties throughout the continuum of care, evaluate patient outcomes, and serve as a role model and mentor. Additionally, the nurse will function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for assigned patients.
• Perform professional nursing duties by assessing, planning, intervening, and advocating for patients throughout their continuum of care.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and the effectiveness of care plans, revising plans or making referrals as necessary.
• Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit.
• Function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by the supervisor/manager.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent oncology experience and one year of recent telemetry experience.
• Must possess ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Course upon hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care.
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Adaptability to work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
